When is the comic updated?
Every Saturday, at best. If not, I usually get the comic done by Sunday evening. If I end up missing a comic due to real life in the form of schoolwork, sickness, laziness, etc, I always make it up later. Thus, there is a comic for every week (and more!) since I started this in March 2004.
How do you create the comics?
Once I have an idea for a comic I get some paper and I draw out a little "thumbnail" of what the page's layout will be. I usually have a bunch of these on a single sheet of paper so I know how the story will progress. Sometimes I write the dialogue for the pages in a text document on notepad to keep me on track. Then on another piece of paper I draw the comic with a regular mechanical pencil. Then, I scan it into Adobe Photoshop, create a new layer, and then ink the comic on that layer with the paintbrush tool. Then I take that layer, save it as a new image, and stick it through Inkscape and
trace a bitmap to smooth out the lines (thanks to Barry for showing me this program!).
Then I add the panel borders and color the comic. Lastly, the word bubbles, text, and "special effects" (fire, motion blurs, etc.) are added.
How did you think of this?
I used my imagination. I was forced to create some of these characters for an animation project during my junior year of high school, so I guess that's what jumpstarted it. I loved my animation class. Drugs have nothing to do with it.
Why is Rhea only slightly damned?
She wasn't good enough to get into Purgatory yet not quite bad enough to get the full
punishment of Hell. Although she was at heart a good person, her actions did not always reflect that. It wasn't just one thing in particular that got her damned; she was just kind of being a bitch in general

Can I/my fan character be in your comic?
Absolutely not.
Is this a furry/anthro comic?
I don't intend it to be. I don't think of myself as a furry. If you don't think, say, Moogles from Final Fantasy are furries, then you shouldn't consider Rhea or any of the Jakkai as furries. Demons aren't anthropomorphized animals, either- they are their own (very strange) race. As the story progresses you should see more and more human or at least human-looking characters appear.
Your comic "inspired" me to create my own race of creatures that are colored just like
Jakkai and star in my own comic with panels, characters, and ideas stolen
from yours. Can I ask you a bunch more questions about everything
you do so that I can copy your every move?

There is a reason for this, and I know WHY so it isn't one of those petty details I just didn't think of yet.

What are those bandages on Rhea's feet?
Contrary to popular belief, they are NOT badly drawn bandages.
It's pretty much just cloth wrapped around her feet, tied on with
string. Nothing special, and they serve no use. It's not like most clothing
in cartoons do anyway ;o
As of comic 92, what's up with Rhea? Is she alive? Is she dead? Is she a zombie? What happens if she gets killed?
For all intents and purposes, Rhea is alive. She needs to eat, drink, and breathe, and she can be killed. As for what happens when she dies, that's supposed to be a mystery.
What happens when fire/water/wind Demons get drunk?
I have been pestered with this question ever since comic 60 came out. You know what happens when a demon gets drunk? The same thing that happens to everyone else. Different types of demons tend to have different reactions, but it's pretty normal. What's weird is what happens to them in place of hangovers. No, I'm not going to tell you what happens to them the morning after for two reasons 1) It's not important to the plot, and 2) It's a surprise.
Can Jakkai, Humans, Angels, Demons, etc. crossbreed?
It's probably possible. From a scientific standpoint, the races are so different from each other biologically that it just wouldn't work. However, Slightly Damned IS a fantasy comic, so who knows? However, it is really, really, really, really, really, really, really unlikely. Part of me knows that having this up here just invites some idiot into thinking "Oh, Jakkai and Humans have babies ALL THE TIME!" or "My Jakkai and Demon hybrid character is super special and would be able to destroy the universe with a single thought!!", but... here's hoping that I never have to hear that sort of crap. Again.
Why does Cerberus disobey Death in comic 67? I read on the "World History" page that Death created Cerberus!
Good question! Unfortunately, I can't tell you, since it isn't a goof- it's part of the story. You'll just have to keep reading to find out!
Can you send me a guide for Angelic to English translations?
Unfortunately, I am no J.R.R. Tolkien. All the Angelic you see in the comic is a bunch of symbols I made up on the fly. There's no guide, no translation. It's all nonsense!
Where is Rhea's winter coat?
Because Rhea was trapped in Hell for a significant amount of time and popped back into Medius in the middle of winter, she won't have a white coat until the next winter rolls around.
